A Tale of Two Kings

Oscar:   Ifs America is a democracy, howse come them gots a King?

MacIntosh:  They don’t.

Oscar:  But it says right here the King thinks only male property owners should vote.

MacIntosh:  That’s Steve King (R-Iowa).  He said “As I roll things back and I think of American history, there was a time in American history when you had to be a male property owner in order to vote.  The reason for that was, because they wanted the people who voted – that set the public policy that decided on the taxes and the spending – to have some skin in the game.”

Oscar:  Them played a game with skin?

MacIntosh:  That’s an expression that means you have something at risk.

Oscar:  So the Kings thinks lady peoples don’t have anything at risk?

MacIntosh:  Apparently not.

Oscar:  What about Veteran peoples?

MacIntosh:  He thinks all 22 million of them, unless they currently own property, should not be able to vote.

Oscar:  Seems to me likes they really got skin in the game.

MacIntosh:  Yep.  And the two million currently in the service do too.

Oscar:  Howse about student peoples…they don’t own any property.

MacIntosh:  And yet the government can put them in debt forever or start wars they have to fight.

Oscar:  So thems got skin in the game, huh MacIntosh.

MacIntosh:  Yep.

Oscar:  Howse about working people that can’t afford to buy a house?

MacIntosh:  Steve King thinks they should not vote.

Oscar:  The King said another thing too…about that Occupy Wall Street thingy..

MacIntosh:  What’s that?

Oscar:  He said,  “It’s really important for us not to give any legitimacy to these people in the streets.  I remember what happened in the 1960s when the left-wing took to the streets and somehow the media glorified them and it ended up shaping policy.  We can’t allow that to happen.”

MacIntosh:  That’s a different King, Peter King (R-NY).

Oscar:  What kinds of policy did them 1960 protesters shape?

MacIntosh:  They ended a senseless war that slaughtered 80,000 of our kids.

Oscar:  And King Peter says we should not allow that to happen?

MacIntosh:  Yep.

Oscar:  Maybe that King Peter just doesn’t like people that causes trouble in the streets

MacIntosh:  Unless you are in the IRA…the Irish Republican Army.  About that he said,  “We must pledge ourselves to support those brave men and women who this very moment are carrying forth the struggle against British imperialism in the streets of Belfast and Derry.”

Oscar:  So King Peter thinks its OK to blow ups people on the streets of London but its not OK to eat pizza and protest the excesses of the moneyed elite?

MacIntosh:  Yep.

Oscar:  What changed his mind?

Oscar:  Round heels and lots of money from the moneyed elite.

King lays out what the conservative mindset really wants… they want to keep consolidating the power into the few hands… the few male and white hands… they want to return to a society that was a draconian patriarchy with no rights for minorities or the poorest 95%.

  2. Yah, Vietnam a absolute disgrace how the Vietnam Veteran was treated by their country…
The Vietnam Veterans won every majhttps://macintosh-and-oscar.com/2011/10/12/a-tale-of-two-kings/or battle of the war……
After the removal of allied forces the Communists over ran the south resulting in the slaughter of estimated 3-4 million Vietnamese.

Some facts on our Vietnam Veterans

Today all Vietnam era Veterans number one VA claim is…….

I have often thought, reflecting on the Victory parade held in Washington after the First Gulf War, when units from all services, the Merchant Marine and Airlines participated, that the Vietnam era veterans should have been called up front and led the troops for passing and review.. It was the Vietnam veterans who lead that army…. The Powell Doctrine… Something Bush 43 rejected…

But the Vietnam Veterans did finally receive their well overdue homecoming…. Here are a few Youtube’s for your enjoyment.. They are aren’t the young lads who marched off to war, but older grandfathers and great grandfathers, many in wheel chairs.
